These policies are in Stage 2 of the policy process and are being reviewed by PACE. We need your feedback!
Specific provisions we request your input on:

Policy 115 4.4.2 “Employees shall not use . . . 4.4.2.3 University facilities (including offices) as a place to conduct an employee’s non university business activities, including convening in-person with clients, patients, business partners, or others for non-university matters.”

Policy 115 4.5.3 “In response to unauthorized use of university property by employees, the University may impose appropriate corrective actions, including the following: 4.5.3.1 Verbal warning, written warning, probation, suspension, and termination pursuant to applicable disciplinary policies and procedures. 4.5.3.2 Other appropriate actions as required by state and federal law, including the filing of criminal complaints in accordance with state law.”

Policy 115 4.5.4 “The University may require any employee who is found to have neglected, lost, or misused university property during personal use to pay all or part of the cost to repair or replace university property.”

Crucial Conversations Training - January 20 and 24, 2022

Crucial Conversations is a two-day training that teaches skills for creating alignment and agreement by fostering open dialogue around high-stakes, emotional or risky topics. This training is in high demand and normally has a price of $1,600 outside of UVU. However, Human Resources is offering it for just $150. This two-day training will be offered in person on January 20 and 24 on campus. If you have any questions, please contact Daniel by email at [email protected]. A message from our PACE president:

Happy New year and Welcome back to work from the Holiday Campus Closure!

January is always a mix of emotions. I relish the family cocoon of time, games, sleep, and yummy food and I am not so sure I want to leave that comfort zone. But I miss my colleagues, the students and there is always that energy of a clean slate that comes with a new calendar year. There is the debate of resolutions and the value of them….so I am going to skip that in this note, but I will share what I am looking forward to in 2022.

- Everyone doing what they can to stay healthy and help others be healthy too
- UVU Men’s Basketball, the team is fun to watch and the new seats in the UCCU Center are comfy
- Dasheek Akwenwenye becoming the PACE President in July 😉
- Continuing my outdoor morning walks…3.56 miles 6 days a week (yes even in the 160F temps this week)
- Finishing the Branch Campus Leadership Training Institute that I was accepted into
- Having both of my children in High School (where has the time gone?)
- And working at Utah Valley University with the best co-workers a person can ask for.

Happy New Year and I hope that you have a great list to look forward to as well.
