Utah Valley University Dance Team

Utah Valley University Dance Team The UVU Dance Team has competed Nationally for the past 17 years at Dance Team Union, USA & NDA.

The UVU Dance Team is a team whose main purpose and goal is to provide spirit and entertainment at all home Athletic events. The Cheer Team, Dance Team and Green Man Group make up the UVU Spirit Squad and serve as UVU Ambassadors through competitions, performances, appearances, and volunteer activities. You will see the UVU Spirit Squad performing at different Athletic events throughout the year a

s well as promoting school spirit at various school and community events. Annually the UVU Dance Team is the official host for the UHSAA State Drill Team competition. The UVU Dance Team was the official dance team for the 2002 Winter Olympics at the Peaks Arena in Provo, Utah. The Utah Valley University Dance Team is under the direction of Ashley Hardison coached by Bri Sorenson.

💚 My favorite UVDT memories are the practices before we leave for nationals, when we did our mental walk-throughs. We get to feel the energy of everyone on the floor. We feel confident and ready to compete. It’s the best feeling, and I love experiencing it with my team.

💚 I grew up dancing at Hot Shots Dance Studio my whole life! I also danced on pleasant groves dance company for 3 years.

💚 My favorite memory on the team will forever be sent off. Being able to perform and show everyone all the hard work we’ve put in, and the love we have for our pieces, always gives me chills and makes me so emotional. There’s something so special about that moment. Getting to dance with some of my favorite people in the world during it makes it even more meaningful. Those moments on stage with them will forever have my heart.

💚 I grew up dancing at The Pointe Performing Arts Center and Southmoore High School in Moore, Oklahoma

💚 My favorite memory from this year was doing a turn circle at our first practice of two a days. We each went one at a time in the circle while the whole team counted and cheered as we hit our nationals turns by ourselves. It is something that can feel really intimidating, but in that moment it was filled with so much love and support. Moments like that remind me how special this team is. It is made up of people who truly want the best for each other and never let you forget that you are supported.

💚 My favorite memory on the team was the last day of UDA when we got to go to Disney World together! They closed the park just for us, and we stayed until 1 am, everyone was so excited, and we had the best time laughing, riding all the rides, and just enjoying the moment together.
