Better late than never… here is a look back at our Spring Break trip to the United Nations in New York City.

We are excited to announce that we will return to the United Nations during Spring Semester 2027 as part of Dr. White's Cold War: Culture and Politics course (NSS 3350) at Utah Valley University.

Priority for participation will be given to students in the Accelerated Russian Language Program. Secondary priority will be given to students with previous Russian-language experience, with remaining spots open to other students enrolled in the course.

Most importantly, thanks to the generosity of the U.S. Russia Foundation, the trip will once again be fully funded for participating students.

This is an extraordinary opportunity to connect the study of the Cold War, diplomacy, international politics, and Russian Studies with direct engagement at the United Nations itself. More details about the Spring 2027 course and application process will be announced soon.

Fifteen Utah Valley University (UVU) students recently visited the United Nations in New York City as part of the university’s Russian studies program and Cold War course, gaining firsthand exposure to diplomacy, international affairs, and the lasting impact of the Cold War on global politics.

The Utah Valley University Open-Source Intelligence Center (OSIC) is now accepting applications. The program trains students and working professionals to use open‑source information for investigations, research, and security analysis. It can be completed alongside any degree or as a stand‑alone certificate, and all participants receive scholarships.

EMTECH
The Emerging Tech Policy Lab (EMTECH) at Utah Valley University is now accepting applications. EMTECH focuses on applied research and hands‑on projects related to emerging technology and security. Students from all majors are welcome—no technical background needed—and participants work with real clients, including state agencies, federal partners, and private organizations. Scholarships are awarded to every participant.

Strider Fellows
Applications are now open for the 2026–2027 Strider Fellowship Program. This interdisciplinary fellowship supports students interested in national security and technology challenges. Selected fellows receive full tuition scholarships through support from Strider Technologies and gain access to mentoring, research opportunities, and professional development.
