Women in Lasers and Optics

Women in Lasers and Optics WiLO is a group of students at UCF working to establish community between women in optics and prepare them for post-graduate life.

WiLO is a group of undergraduate and graduate students of CREOL, the College of Optics and Photonics at the University of Central Florida, Orlando. We exist to establish connections between women in optics and related fields, enabling the development of valuable networks of professionals as well as preparedness for post-graduate life. This is done through events such as discussion panels with recent CREOL alumni and local professionals, soft skills seminars, and outreach activities.

Happy International Women's Day! We would like to invite you to celebrate with us at a talk with Dr. Monica Allen from 12 to 1 PM, today.

Dr. Allen works for the Air Force Research Laboratory and will be discussing women in science and engineering. Join via the zoom link in our bio!

Tomorrow, Feb. 24th, Dr. Hui Cao will be giving a lecture, as well as hosting an informal Q&A session with students in CREOL.

The lecture will be at 12PM in 102/103 and the Q&A will be at 4PM in 103.

This will be a good opportunity to ask an experienced professor about her career path and experience as a woman in the field of optics.

All students are welcome at both events!
