Benjamin F. Lampkin College of Law Scholarship

Benjamin Franklin Lampkin, Jr. born May 25, 1937 and was a graduate of Florida A & M University’s Political Science Program and Florida A & M University College of Law. It was obvious wherever his many travels took him that he loved and held great pride for his beloved alma mater. Attorney Lampkin made great strides in the field of law in Broward County and was the first African American Assistant Public Defender in the State of Florida. He enjoyed representing the underprivileged as well as representing those who could not afford legal representation. In addition to his professional acumen and obligations, Attorney Lampkin also worked diligently in the FAMU Broward Alumni Chapter until his death on November 2, 2006. To maintain his legacy the Browed County Alumni Association created the Benjamin L. Lampkin College of Law Scholarship.

Application deadline is January 31, 2022.

He made great strides in his field of law in Broward County and was the first African American Assistant Public Defender in the State of Florida

CPPD is hosting three virtual On-Campus Interview (OCI) prep workshops from June 28-June 30 at 5-6pm to share information about applying, interviewing, materials, and practical advice. CPPD staff will be joined by law firm recruiters and hiring attorneys. CPPD strongly encourages rising 2Ls and 3L students applying for post-grad opportunities through our OCI program to attend the workshops. The schedule for the workshops is as follows:

June 28: OCI Bootcamp – Resume, Cover Letter & How to Apply
June 29: OCI Bootcamp – Interviewing (guests: RumbergerKirk and Holland & Knight)
June 30: OCI Bootcamp – Practical Advice for Law Students (guests: Foley & Lardner LLP)

Congrats to Professor Cynthia Ramkellawan for being selected as one of the UCF Alumni Association's 30 Under 30 recipients.

The 30 Under 30 awards program recognizes outstanding young alumni who continue to "Reach for the Stars" in their professional and personal lives since graduating from the University of Central Florida. Young alumni currently account for one third of our alumni population, making them our largest constituent base.

The 30 Under 30 awards program seeks to connect young alumni to the UCF community. In May, the UCF community celebrated the achievements of these individuals and the impact they have made in their profession, community, and the university post commencement.
