Benjamin F. Lampkin College of Law Scholarship
Benjamin Franklin Lampkin, Jr. born May 25, 1937 and was a graduate of Florida A & M University’s Political Science Program and Florida A & M University College of Law. It was obvious wherever his many travels took him that he loved and held great pride for his beloved alma mater. Attorney Lampkin made great strides in the field of law in Broward County and was the first African American Assistant Public Defender in the State of Florida. He enjoyed representing the underprivileged as well as representing those who could not afford legal representation. In addition to his professional acumen and obligations, Attorney Lampkin also worked diligently in the FAMU Broward Alumni Chapter until his death on November 2, 2006. To maintain his legacy the Browed County Alumni Association created the Benjamin L. Lampkin College of Law Scholarship.
