Burnett Honors College The Burnett Honors College offers two distinct programs of study, University Honors and Honors in the Major.

The Burnett Honors College combines the intimacy of a small liberal arts college with the benefits of a large, research university located in a metropolitan environment. The Burnett Honors College at UCF, in affiliation with the National Collegiate Honors Council, is designed to attract and challenge students who have demonstrated an ability to achieve academic excellence. Honors students receive

an education that prepares them to enter the best graduate and professional schools, as well as obtain distinguished careers in business and public service.

Meet Hannah Benton during tomorrow’s BHC Scholar Instagram Story Takeover!

Hannah Benton is currently on her way to present her Honors Undergraduate Thesis at two national research conferences. She’ll be presenting at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) in Pittsburgh on April 8th and the Conference on College Composition & Communication (CCCC) in Baltimore on April 10th. As a Writing & Rhetoric major, Benton researched the intrinsic link between fan studies and disability rhetoric. She explored how/why fanfictions affirm or transform canonical depictions of disability in mass media. Through her work, she aims to advocate for the presence of humanities research in STEM-dominated spaces while spreading awareness for disability nationally.
