In recognition of National Hazing Awareness Week, UMaine will host screenings of 4000 Days, an award-winning documentary highlighting the fight for safer campuses and the advocacy that helped lead to the passage of the federal Stop Campus Hazing Act.

We join with the UMaine community in mourning the recent passing of Anne Collins ’61, ’59H. One of the many ways Anne served and supported UMaine was as a member of the Alumni Association Board of Directors from 1993 through 1999. In recognition of her outstanding service to the University and its alumni community, Anne received the Alumni Association’s Block M Award in 2016.
We send our sincere condolences to her family and to all who join us in remembering Anne and her lasting impact on UMaine.

It is with great sorrow that we share the recent passing of Anne Collins, who, together with her late husband Richard Collins, is the namesake of our building.

Anne and Richard's generosity made it possible for the Collins Center to create countless memories over the years, and their legacy will continue to shape this space for generations to come.

Anne was a truly special person and will be deeply missed. In the coming season, we hope to honor the Collins family's memory and share more stories of the generosity, warmth, and lasting impact they brought to our community.

On September 19, the UMaine Alumni will face off against the Boston Bruins Alumni at Alfond Arena for a special charity game benefiting the Waldo County Firefighters Association benefit fund.
The fund provides support to emergency personnel affected by the devastating Robbins Lumber explosion and fire, including members of the UMaine family.
