Two Master of Science Bioproducts Engineering students in Dr. Tajvidi’s lab won the 2021 TAPPI NANO Student Poster Competition awards. The virtual conference was hosted by VTT in Finland on June 15-16 2021 and is considered the world’s largest cellulose nanomaterial forum where scientists, students and the industry gather annually to exchange the most recent findings and progress in the area of renewable nanomaterials technology.

Alexander Collins presented his project titled “Contact‐dewatered cellulose nanofibers for reinforced bio‐polymer composites” and won the 2nd place award.

Rakibul Hossain also won the 3rd place award for his presentation titled “Novel multi‐layer oil‐resistant food serving plates using nanocellulose composite”.
