James Woronow
"Reinventing Geometric Abstraction"
October 13 – November 13
Artist's Reception: October 23, 2025, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm.
The Butte College Art Gallery is pleased to announce an exhibition by sculptor and glass artist, Jim Woronow. This exhibition will be on display from October 13, 2025 – November 13, 2025, in the Butte College Art Gallery on the Main Campus. An artist’s reception will take place on Thursday, October 23, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Complimentary food and refreshments will be served. There will also be live music courtesy of the Butte College Music Department.
Jim is a local resident of Butte County and works out of his home studio and gallery in Chico, CA. Jim creates large and small-scale floor and pedestal non-objective sculptures made from wood and metal. He also creates colorful wall hanging pieces out of wood and sand blasted glass.
Jim describes his work as "embracing minimalism to let form and composition speak louder than symbolism." Jim’s work is meant to allow the viewers to "bring their own meanings," as it is a "clean canvas for personal interpretation."
Please join us to meet and celebrate Jim Woronow and his artwork in the Butte College Art Gallery on Thursday, October 23 from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm. It will be an exciting event and will present live music, food, and refreshments. This event is free and open to the public. Jim will also be present at the reception.
The Butte College Art Gallery is located on the main Butte College campus, 3536 Campus Drive, in the ARTS Building (ARTS 106) closest to parking lots 1 and 3.
