Our Model UN team delegates joined for a variety of reasons like to make friends, enhance skills, and to learn more about their niche interests. Our team gives students opportunities to step outside their comfort zones, make global connections and better understand global topics around the world while being supported by their friends!

We are still currently hosting a fundraiser to support our delegates and help them continue to learn, develop and represent UWO through Model UN.

Our Model UN team travels to New York and Chicago every academic year! We are extremely grateful to have the opportunity to travel and to compete while representing UWO nationally and internationally. We are looking to raise money for travel costs and student fees which would ensure every student may participate in all competitions. Your donations would go toward students fostering global connections and building life skills!

UWO Model UN was happy to host Chancellor Singh at our press conference-style meeting last Wednesday. Such practice session allows the team to improve and enhance our delegate skills for the upcoming conference in Chicago on Nov. 22-25.

After we finished our practice press conference, Chancellor Singh gave his remarks about how Model UN is full of future leaders who are ready to be agents of change.

We concluded the discussion by explaining what it means to be an Oshkosh delegate: someone who is flexible, knowledgeable, caring and a leader.

For the past two years, MUN alumni achieved the Outstanding Young Alumni Award, showcasing a long-standing tradition of excellence.

Thank you Chancellor Singh for taking the time to join us for our meeting. You are always more than welcome to join us again.

This week our MUN-derful Model United Nations team attended the National Model United Nations Conference in New York City!🗽🇺🇳

Our 16 delegates represented the United Republic of Tanzania in 8 different committees!! 🇹🇿👫

This conference was an incredible opportunity for our team and one we are so lucky to experience! We are truly grateful for the support from the Provost’s Office, the UW-Oshkosh Foundation, Chancellor Leavitt, and all of the faculty and staff who work with our team members to ensure they do not fall behind in classes!

The UWO Model UN team walked away with two position paper awards, the first in the General Assembly First Committee (represented by Vladyslav Plyaka and Mollie Salzman) and the second in the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO; represented by Elaina Swafford and Maritssa Ortiz-Young). Our UNESCO delegates also received the peer choice award! And finally, the team received the Outstanding Delegation Award, which is given to the delegations that went above and beyond as delegates🏆🥳
