What an amazing day!

A transformational day for UW–Oshkosh and the future of healthcare and STEM education.

Today, distinguished alumna Mary Novak-Jandrey has made the largest gift in university history, a $10 million investment advancing nursing, health professions and STEM at UW–Oshkosh.

As a first-generation nursing student, Mary’s Titan journey began right here at UW–Oshkosh. The education she received and the faculty who guided her helped shape a career spanning healthcare, science and industry.

Her historic investment will now ensure that future students have the same opportunity to learn, collaborate, innovate and lead through expanded interdisciplinary programs, innovative learning environments and long-term support for their success.

In recognition of her extraordinary generosity, the College of Nursing, Health Professions and STEM will be named in her honor.

This is Titan impact in action, where the education you receive shapes your future and, that impact lives on through generations of students. 🖤💛

The UWO Alumni Association couldn't be more proud of Mary Novak-Jandrey — a 2020 Distinguished Alumni Award recipient and now the most generous donor in UW-Oshkosh history. Her $10 million gift will transform nursing, health professions, and STEM education at UWO for generations of students to come.

As a first-gen nursing grad who built a remarkable career across healthcare, engineering, and workforce strategy, Mary's story — and her generosity — is truly extraordinary. Thank you, Mary. Titans are lucky to have you. 🧡💛

The University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh announced it will rename its College of Nursing, Health Professions, and STEM after distinguished alumna Mary Novak-Jandrey following a $10 million gift—the largest in UWO history.

A celebration of life for Helen Briwa, the only women's director of athletics in UW-Oshkosh history, will be held on Friday, May 1, 2026 at the Campus Center for Equity and Diversity (717 Irving Avenue) from 5-7 p.m.

The celebration of life is open to the public. Guests should enter the CCED from the Elmwood Avenue entrance.

Cookies and refreshments will be available and following a social, those interested will have the opportunity to speak about Helen starting at 6:30 p.m.
