For this weeks “Where Are They Now? Wednesday”, we are featuring Eric Dzierzgowski!

Eric graduated in 2022 with a degree in Broadcasting & Mass Communication. Eric is currently working at 7News Boston as a News Producer!

When asked how SUNY Oswego prepares him for the workforce, Eric said “Going to SUNY Oswego was the best choice for my career. Classes taught me crucial skills that I still use today, but WTOP is what helped me most. I started as a reporter but found my passion in producing. From being an associate producer to becoming the news director, I jumped at every opportunity to learn more and challenge myself. The hands-on experience I got in stacking rundowns and writing scripts has played a key role in the success I’ve found as an alum. It helped me land jobs at WSYX in Columbus, OH and now at WHDH in Boston, MA. I also recently received my 3rd Emmy nomination. My advice to broadcasting students is to find what aspect of journalism you resonate with most and stick with it. I’ll always look back and appreciate the network I built with professors and classmates that have helped set me up for success. Once a Laker, always a Laker!”

If you would like to connect with Eric, you can find him on LinkedIn as Eric Dzierzgowski or via email [email protected]

Oswego State Communication students were all over the top minor league baseball organizations in the region this past summer, taking what they learned in the classroom and applying it to the real world. With the Buffalo Bisons (AAA affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays) BRC majors Owen Gangloff and Brayden Peters served in media relations and game reporting roles, respectively. With the Rochester Red Wings (AAA affiliate of the Washington Nationals), journalism majors Logan Weingartner and Cameron Shutts worked in the team’s Baseball Information and Game Reporting departments, while BRC major Dylan Gilmore worked in live game broadcasts.
