Join the Topeka Family & Friends Juneteenth Committee for the Juneteenth Parade & Car Show on June 19 at 11:00 AM in Topeka, KS. The parade will move down Kansas Avenue and conclude with a program at Cushinberry Park.

Come out as we honor our history, celebrate our freedom, and build our future together.

The Brothers of **Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. – Delta Eta Lambda Chapter proudly hosted our Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemoration & Awards Luncheon on January 10th in Topeka.

We honored the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., awarded $2,500 scholarships to five outstanding students, and were inspired by a POWERFUL message from DeAndre Hicks, a graduating senior at Langston University and Assistant District Director for Oklahoma.

To close the program, the brothers surprised Brandon Clark with the Alpha Man Brotherhood Legacy Award and Lonnie Walker with the DEI Champion Award.

The 2nd Annual MLK Legacy Scholarship $2,500 Essay Contest hosted by the Delta Eta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha is now open! ✍🏽

This year, we’ve grown from awarding four scholarships to five — honoring local students who are Standing on Legacy.
Open to all high school seniors in Shawnee County and Topeka.
Deadline: Sunday, December 21, 2025
Awardees are honored at the MLK Awards Luncheon, January 10, 2026.
