So proud of Lauren, Lily, and Samantha for being inducted into Phi Alpha Theta! 🎉📚📖 PAT is a national history honors society that accepts new students each spring. We inducted sveen other students this year! Thank you Dr Howard for heading the induction ceremony at our awards picnic.

The Mississippi Historical Society presented its Lifetime Achievement Award to professor emeritus Charles Reagan Wilson at its annual meeting today in Oxford. He was the Kelly Gene Cook Sr. Chair of History and Professor of Southern Studies at The University of Mississippi - Ole Miss, where he taught from 1981 to 2014. He served as director of the Southern Studies academic program from 1991 to 1998, and director of the Center for the Study of Southern Culture from 1998 to 2007. Author of numerous books and articles, Wilson was coeditor, with William Ferris, of the original Encyclopedia of Southern Culture, and general editor of the 24-volume New Encyclopedia of Southern Culture.
