First fight for John Antonio and first Win! 1-0...now on to Indiana Golden Gloves...Train hard...Fight Harder!!!

First fights of 2014 at the University of Miami Ohio.
John Antonio won his fight against boxer from University of Michigan and Kevin Harrington lost a very close split decision to a boxer from Eastern Michigan. Several coaches and boxers told me they thought Kevin won.

Good work John and Kevin. Very proud of you. Now we need to focus on the Indiana Golden Gloves.

Congratulations to the University of Wisconsin in getting approved as a club sport. Now Purdue needs to get the same authorization so we can compete in the National Collegiate Boxing Association (NCBA). Other Big Ten schools with club sport boxing programs include Ohio State, Michigan, & Penn State.

Who thinks Purdue should also be approved to compete as a club sport?

Mon & Wed: 8 - 9 pm at Pro Fitness in Lafayette across from Chick-Filet

Tue, Thur, Fri: 6 am at Purdue Co-rec boxing rooms in the bottom floor past the big weight room

Bring jump rope. Club dues are $25 per semester.

The team has been working hard to get in shape and learn new skills. Will have one boxer compete in Marion next weekend and a few will be competing in the Indiana Golden Gloves. Go Purdue Boxing....!!!

As a fundraiser, we're selling these t-shirts for $10 each plus $3 shipping if you're not local to West Lafayette, Indiana or want me to mail instead of hand deliver. If you would like to buy a shirt, send me a message with shirt size and your mailing address. I think that most of you are on the PurdueBoxing gmail mailing list, so this is a reminder that your orders for t-shirts are due today, beause we're giving our final order to the printers tomorrow.

Also, please plan on coming down to Tyndall Armory, 711 North Pennsylvania Street, in Indianapolis at 7:30 This Thursday to cheer for Nathan Murphy, who will be boxing for the 165 lb Junior Open Championship.
