As many of you may have heard, I decided to leave my position as Coordinator of Veteran and Military Services and pursue other objectives. I will have a meeting for all student veterans on Monday, 7 November, at 1600hrs. It will be held in the Student Union, Room 405 and I will answer questions you may have about this. I will also look to have this streamed as a Facebook Live event on the VMS page (to allow regional campuses veterans to pipe in), but still need to work that out. More to follow.
I've recently heard from some student veterans and I would like to make you aware that I chose to make this decision because I believe that new challenges are what make life worthwhile. Besides, as we all know from our time in the military, change is simply part of life and who really wants a leader that never leaves?
I hope that each of you will take advantage of the free tickets for the Veteran Appreciation Football game this weekend and look to attend the Veterans Day Service next week. You've all played a big part in growing Veteran Services to what it is today and I hope you'll continue to support that effort and help the next person to be successful. I wish you luck and look forward to seeing you on Monday.
Michael Howland (MSG, USA, Retired)

This was mounted today in the main entrance to Martindale Hall, recognizing the University of Mississippi commitment and work to help veterans. There is more to do, but the members of Martindale Hall (University of Mississippi Office of Financial Aid, University of Mississippi Center for Student Success & FYE, Ole Miss Admissions, Registrar, Bursar, Student Disabilities and the Career Center) deserve accolades for their work to make this possible. Hotty Toddy!
