✨ Study Abroad Diaries: Greece Edition ✨

Join Kirsten and Suzette, IMC and Journalism majors from Ole Miss, as Suzette shares her study abroad experience in Greece 🇬🇷✈️

Through the GLO program, Suzette, a Gilman Scholar, was able to study abroad with meaningful financial support designed to make global education more accessible for students who may not otherwise have the means to go. The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship helps open doors for students with limited financial resources to experience the world and gain international learning opportunities.

For Suzette, this was also her first time traveling on her own. While in Greece, she stepped into a new level of independence, attending business seminars, engaging in cross-cultural learning, and pushing herself outside of her comfort zone in both academic and personal ways.

From navigating a new country to growing in confidence and perspective, she reflects on how this experience shaped her journey and future goals.

Through a faculty-led program with professors and students from the School of Journalism and New Media at Ole Miss, they didn’t just travel—they learned to see the world differently. Taking a photography class together challenged them to slow down, notice the details, and capture stories in ways they never had before 📸
