❄️🚛 WINTER DRIVING IN ALASKA: BE READY FOR WHAT’S AHEAD

For commercial drivers in Alaska, winter driving is more than dealing with a little snow. Ice, extreme cold, blowing snow, limited visibility, and long stretches of remote highway can quickly turn an ordinary trip into a serious challenge.

Before you hit the road:

🔹 Pre-trip for the conditions — Check tires, lights, brakes, wipers, fluids, batteries, air systems, and cold-weather equipment.

🔹 Slow everything down — Increase following distance, reduce speed, and avoid sudden braking, acceleration, or steering.

🔹 Expect conditions to change — Black ice, drifting snow, and reduced visibility can develop quickly.

🔹 Prepare for remote travel — Carry warm clothing, emergency supplies, communication equipment, and provisions in case you're delayed.

🔹 Know when to stop — No schedule or delivery is more important than getting there safely.

Alaska depends on professional drivers year-round. Preparation, good judgment, and solid driving skills matter even more when winter arrives.

Real Skills. Brighter Futures. A Stronger Alaska.
