ate in Arts program the college offers. These honors-designated courses from the general education curriculum emphasize creative thinking, participatory learning, and originality. Honors classes are small, with generally fewer than 20 students per class. Emphasis is placed on individuality, originality, and participation. Honors students have opportunities to participate in unique research and special classroom activities that are not usually available in the regular classes for these courses. Participants in the program may also be eligible for additional scholarship opportunities, membership in the Phi Theta Kappa International Honorary Society, nomination to the Academic All-USA Team, and participation on the Brain Bowl Team. Honors Program students also have the opportunity to attend honors seminars and present honors course work at state and regional conferences. After graduation, students in the Honors program often go on to top four-year colleges and universities.
