Your hard work, late-night study sessions, and relentless dedication to excellence have officially paid off. Achieving this level of academic success is no small feat, and the entire GCSC community is incredibly proud of what you’ve accomplished this semester. ⚓💪

What it takes to make the list:
Honors are awarded to full-time students completing a minimum of 12 credit hours. The President's List recognizes those maintaining a near-perfect 3.90–4.00 GPA, while the Dean's List honors students achieving a stellar 3.70–3.89 GPA.

🏗️ Anchoring Our Future: Gulf/Franklin Campus Groundbreaking! ⚓

Big things are on the horizon in Port St. Joe! Today, we officially broke ground on the highly anticipated Multipurpose Classroom Building/Shelter at the Gulf Coast State College Gulf/Franklin Campus!

This new facility will add approximately 12,000 square feet of learning space to our growing campus. Beyond serving our students, this building is designed with community resilience in mind—it will also serve local residents as a Shelter of Last Response during times of need.

Construction is slated to begin within the next few weeks, with a completion date set for 2027.

NATIONAL EMS WEEK on GCSC North Bay Campus

Today, our Gulf Coast State College EMS and Fire Science students at the North Bay Campus had an incredible opportunity to celebrate EMS Week with some real-world inspiration.

A massive shoutout and thank you to GCSC Alumnus, Captain Ike Smith, now a Bay County Firefighter/Paramedic! Captain Smith stepped back onto campus today to speak with our current students about his journey from these very classrooms to the front lines of public safety.

He shared invaluable insights on leadership, the realities of the truck, and this year’s national EMS Week theme: “Improving Outcomes, Together.” It was an incredible reminder that saving lives isn't a solo job—it takes an unbreakable chain of teamwork, dedication, and community.

Thank you, Captain Smith, for investing back into the next generation of first responders, and thank you to all of our incredible students who are stepping up to answer the call. We are so proud of our GCSC family!
