🏆 First in the nation.

Our Lee Business School team won the 2026 IMA Student Case Competition after advancing through a field of 30 teams and competing in the national finals in Tampa.

The students analyzed sales and market data to determine whether a regional fresh food distributor should pursue a new retail partnership in the Hass avocado market.

According to faculty advisor Daniel Siciliano, the team’s analysis was strong, but their polished, energetic presentation is what set them apart.

UNLV’s first insurance and risk management cohort is opening doors for the students who will follow.

After nine students shared their stories with the Nevada Surplus Lines Foundation board, the foundation committed a new $2.6 million gift to support junior- and senior-year scholarships for at least 180 students over the next three cohorts.

The moment says a lot about what this program is building: opportunity for students, a stronger talent pipeline for Nevada, and a clearer path into an industry that touches finance, law, cyber risk, hospitality, regulation, and community recovery.

Outstanding work from our MIS students at the International Collegiate Business Strategy Competition.

The team earned Best Presentation and Runner-Up for Best Overall Company Performance. Congrats to Emon Emtiaz, Iqra Faisal .faisal13, Helena Otero .oreo, Juan Otero, and Shaima Mahamud, represented Lee Business School through strong analytical thinking, collaboration, and strategic ex*****on throughout the competition.

🎓 December Graduate Spotlight: Itzel Martinez

Meet Itzel, graduating with her B.S. in Marketing this fall! 🌟 At UNLV, she served on the American Marketing Association executive board and held leadership roles with UNLV Girl Gains and BLA!

What Itzel loved most about Lee Business was being pushed outside of her comfort zone through presentations and projects, helping her build confidence while finding a supportive community that truly felt like home.

After graduation, Itzel plans to continue her education through graduate school, pursue entrepreneurship, and give back to her community. As a first-generation student, she is proud of how far she’s come and grateful for the sacrifices her family made along the way.

Double the degrees, double the pride. 🎓🎓
This week, mother–son duo Marie Arroyo and Danny Baez walked the stage together and earned their MS MIS degrees!

In addition to being students, Marie served as an administrative assistant in the Office of the Dean, and Danny worked as a GA in our Office of Online Education — both strengthening Lee Business School behind the scenes while advancing their own education.

Congratulations to both on this incredible milestone! Their journey is a true famLEE moment. ❤️
