Mineral Area College serves our communities by providing excellent, affordable opportunities for learning, personal growth, and career development in a safe and welcoming environment. Mineral Area College is dedicated to the belief that learning beyond high school is essential for the full development of individuals’ interests and capacities and for the training of responsible citizens who will ma

ke a worthy contribution in a democratic society. It further believes the public, two-year community college is in a unique position to contribute to the overall program of higher education by providing the first years of college at a reasonable cost. Close to the community it serves, Mineral Area College meets the needs not only of those who will transfer to other institutions, but also of those who are preparing for careers through occupational programs, and those who value learning for its own sake. Mineral Area College believes in an open door policy that offers to everyone an opportunity to benefit from higher education. The College will at all times strive for quality in its educational programs.

Ford Technical Placement Specialist, Brandon Evans, stopped by MAC Tech today to talk with Automotive Technology students about career opportunities and financial support through Ford. With Ford actively recruiting to meet the rising demand for technicians, MAC Tech grads have a direct path to working at Ford dealerships.

Brandon walked students through the Ford Auto Tech Scholarship, a $4 million effort funded by Ford Philanthropy and Ford Dealers. Eligible auto and diesel students can receive a $5,000 need-based scholarship to help cover tuition, tools, living expenses, and transportation.

The initiative is already making a real impact on campus. Last year, 11 MAC students applied and received a combined $37,250 in funding. Interest has surged this year, with 24 students submitting applications.

Thank you, Brandon, for taking the time to support our students and share the opportunities available with Ford!
