PLU Sustainability

PLU Sustainability Our motto is "People Planet Prosperity," for all three are necessary for a sustainable future. At PLU, we strive to be both waste-free and carbon-neutral.

PLU's mission is "to educate students for lives of thoughtful inquiry, service, leadership and care - for other persons, for their communities and the earth" Here in the Sustainability Office we see sustainability as a way to ensure prosperity of the community in ways that represent our connection/concern to the planet and our fellow people. The SO creates engaging and substantial opportunities f

or students to connect with lifelong sustainable practices and care about their Earth. We do this through the "ABC's of the PPP's", which means we try to infuse "people, planet, prosperity" mantra into the academia, built environment and culture. Ultimately, the SO strives to create an inclusive culture of sustainability through education, action and inquiry. You can engage by visiting the habitat restoration site, the bike coop, or the community garden to name a few. Or, participate in unPLUg, RecycleMania, or join us at an event. You'll get all the details at www.plu.edu/sustainability
