Integrity
by Ron C. Nischwitz Sr.
1-17-26

The cost of honesty is often high...
It may ask you to surrender comfort...
to forfeit approval...
even to end relationships...
that cannot stand in the presence of truth...
Yet every great faith teaches...
that integrity is the path of the righteous...
The Christian is called to walk in the Light...
the Jew to uphold emet...
the Muslim to stand firm in sidq...
the Hindu to live in satya...
the Buddhist to practice right speech...
and the Mason to keep his life aligned...
with the Square of Truth...
and the Plumb of Uprightness...
The cost of deceit never ends...
It drains the soul quietly, a slow erosion of peace...
day after day...
until the truth...
as it always does...
comes to collect its due...
Honesty may wound once...
but the wound is clean...
Deceit wounds without end...
for it binds a man to the very shadows he hoped to escape...
Thus the wise of every religious tradition know...
Truth is the only foundation...
upon which a life...
a faith...
or a Temple can stand.

The Tool That Binds
by Ron C. Nischwitz Sr.
1-16-26

Among all the tools entrusted to the Builder...
there is one that does not cut...
does not strike...
does not measure...
yet it accomplishes a work greater than any of these...
The Trowel is the quiet instrument of reconciliation...
the tool that binds what is scattered...
heals what is divided...
and joins many stones into one enduring wall...
In Christianity...
this spirit is reflected in the call to be peacemakers...
to bind wounds...
to forgive...
and to build one another up in love...
For Christ Himself prayed that His followers “may be one"...
cemented together by the mortar of compassion and grace...
In Freemasonry...
the Trowel spreads the cement of Brotherly Love...
uniting men of every nation...
creed...
and tongue into one sacred fellowship...
It reminds the Mason that the Temple he builds is not made of stone alone...
but of character...
unity...
and goodwill...
And in the great religions of the world...
whether in the Jewish call to shalom...
the Islamic devotion to salaam...
the Hindu pursuit of harmony...
the Buddhist path of compassion...
or the universal yearning for peace...
the same truth resounds...
humanity is meant to be joined...
not divided...
Thus the Trowel becomes a universal symbol of sacred labor...
It teaches that strength and skill may shape the stone...
but only love...
mercy...
and understanding...
can bind those stones into a Temple...
that will endure the ages...
For many hands...
though different in strength...
culture...
and temperament...
can raise nothing lasting...
unless they are united by a higher purpose...
But when they work together...
guided by faith...
strengthened by hope...
and bound by love...
they build a House where all may dwell in peace...
The Trowel reminds us...
that the world is not healed by force...
nor perfected by intellect alone...
but transformed by the quiet...
persistent work...
of those who choose to unite rather than divide.

The Calling
by Ron C. Nischwitz Sr.
1-9-26

Why does a man join Freemasonry...
Because something within him stirs...
a quiet...
persistent curiosity for deeper things...
mixed with the trembling hope...
that he might be found worthy to enter...
He is drawn not to what is quick or simple...
but to what must be studied...
lived...
and slowly understood...
And he arrives not by accident...
Someone has watched him...
how he disagrees...
how he listens...
how he keeps his word when no one is watching...
For Masonry seeks not titles or roles...
but a certain attitude of character...
To enter is not comparison...
It is commitment...
It is honor...
It is risk...
and sometimes it hurts...
You do not join to find easy answers...
but to learn how to face difficult questions...
The Lodge is not an escape from the world...
but a workshop where the ego is tested...
challenged...
and reshaped...
Masonry leads a man back to his own rough ashlar...
not to confirm his certainties...
but to refine them...
Many knock...
Few remain...
Those who seek secrets...
power...
or recognition...
soon discover there is nothing here to take...
only much to give...
and even more to examine within themselves...
For many chase power...
Only a few pursue duty...
Freemasonry grants no rank in the world...
It entrusts a responsibility to the world...
And sooner or later...
every Brother must ask...
Am I willing to be the one who stays silent...
when everyone else is shouting...
You do not enter to become someone...
You enter to remove the masks...
set aside the titles...
and work on what remains when all else is stripped away...
It is not a comfortable path...
But it is a rare privilege...
to pause...
to think...
to grow in an age obsessed with reaction...
And perhaps,...
deep within...
you join because you sense a truth...
the hardest work is not to change the world...
but to become worthy of living in it.

Shine My Brothers
by Ron C. Nischwitz Sr. 1-6-26

My heart is heavy with this...
Every so often I am seeing Brother Masons... arguing with others on Facebook...
about their beliefs...
typically political...
sometimes societal...
My Brothers...
we must remember...
the teachings we received within the Lodge's sacred walls...
they are not meant to remain there...
The values of the Lodge...
Brotherly Love...
Relief...
and Truth...
are not decorations for our aprons...
they are duties for our daily lives...
What we learn in the quiet of our degrees...
must be carried boldly into the noise of the world...
We must also understand a profound truth...
IT IS NOT OUR WORK TO FIGHT THE DARKNESS...
Darkness has existed since the beginning of time...
It will always exist...
And no amount of anger...
argument...
or force...
will ever drive it away...
But Light...
Light is different...
Light does not struggle...
Light does not shout...
Light does not wage war...
Light simply shines...
and by shining...
it overcomes...
THIS IS THE WORK OF A MASON...
Not to wrestle with shadows...
not to chase every wrong...
not to exhaust ourselves battling what we cannot control...
but to increase the Light within us...
until it spills outward...
and transforms everything around us...
If enough of us shine...
truly shine...
the darkness has no choice but to retreat...
Not because we fought it...
but because we outshined it...
So...
my Brothers...
do not waste your energy...
swinging at shadows...
or cursing the night...
Instead...
tend the flame within your own heart....
Polish the ashlar of your character...
Live the teachings of the Craft...
so clearly...
so consistently...
so courageously...
that others cannot help but feel...
the Light you carry...
For the world does not need more men fighting darkness...
It needs more Masons radiating Light...
Shine my Brothers...
Shine with purpose...
Shine with humility...
Shine with the quiet strength...
of a man who knows who he is...
and Whose Light he reflects...
And in that shining...
you will do more good...
than a thousand battles ever could.

Quiet Courage
by Ron C. Nischwitz Sr.
1-4-26

As Masons...
for us...
it has never been about titles...
or recognition...
It’s about the quiet courage...
that we summon each day...
the courage...
to rise with purpose...
to face the duties laid before us...
and to carry the responsibilities...
that others may never see...
It’s the courage...
to hold ourselves to the Square...
even when no one is watching...
to measure our steps by the Plumb...
when the world pulls us off balance,..
and to keep our passions within due bounds...
when life tests our patience...
and our resolve...
To live as good men...
honest,...
disciplined...
dependable men...
is to labor together...
on the rough ashlar...
of our own character,...
knowing the Work is slow...
the progress often unseen...
and the victories mostly silent...
But we have learned something along the way...
the weight we carry...
is not a burden...
It is the honor of the Craft...
It is the privilege of being the men...
our families...
our Brothers...
and our communities can rely on...
It is the calling...
to build...
to steady...
to uplift...
not for applause...
but because it is right...
And so each day...
quietly and faithfully...
we rise...
to continue the Work...
to build ourselves...
to serve others...
and to walk in the Light..
as best as we know how.

Prepared For The Work
by Ron C. Nischwitz Sr.
1-5-26

Brethren...
let us be reminded that...
a dull mind cannot perceive the Light...
a dull tool cannot shape the stone...
and a dull body...
cannot bear the weight of the duty...
that is entrusted to it...
As Freemasons...
we are Builders...
not of structures...
but of character...
of families...
of communities...
and of the quiet strength...
that steadies the world around us...
If we are to protect...
to provide...
and to lead...
then we must remain sharp...
in every part of ourselves...
For the Work demands clarity of thought...
steadiness of hand...
and strength of spirit...
So we sharpen the mind...
through study...
that Wisdom may guide our steps...
We strengthen the body...
through discipline...
that we may endure the labor before us...
We refine the spirit...
through reflection and prayer...
that our actions may be worthy of the Light we have received...
For the mind...
the tools...
and the body...
are not separate things...
they are one unified set of working tools...
given to us for the purpose...
of the building of our lives...
Because...
We cannot uplift others...
if we ourselves are falling apart...
We cannot steady the world...
if we are unsteady within...
And those who look to us...
for guidance and examples...
our families...
our Brothers...
our communities...
deserve us at our strongest...
our clearest...
our most upright and honorable...
not our brokenness...
So let us keep ourselves sharp...
Brethren...
Let us tend to the mind...
the body...
and the spirit...
with the same care...
that we give to the tools of the Craft...
For the world needs Builders...
and the Builder...
must always be ready for the Work.

True Purpose
by Ron C. Nischwitz Sr.
12-24-25

Masonry does not make you important...
It reminds you to be useful...
Because the Work was never about titles...
or aprons...
or a chair in the East...
It was about becoming a better man...
a man whose presence makes a difference...
a man who leaves things better than he found them...
Masonry doesn’t elevate your status...
It elevates your responsibility...
It teaches you that honor is not something you wear...
it is something that you prove...
in the quiet unseen moments...
when no one is watching...
It reminds you that the world is full of men...
men who want to be recognized...
but desperately short of men...
who want to be useful...
Useful in service...
Useful in kindness...
Useful in truth...
Useful in building what is good..
and repairing what is broken...
The Craft does not exist to make you feel important...
It exists to make you necessary...
a steady hand...
a faithful Brother...
a living tool in the hands...
of the Great Architect of the Universe...
For in the end...
importance fades...
But usefulness...
usefulness endures.
