Farm Talk, a leading Agriculture publication serving commercial farmers and ranchers in the Four State Region of KS, MO, OK & AR, is looking for a Production Coordinator/Graphic Designer...

We're seeking a valuable member of our Production Department who is eager and capable of contributing to our 50-year-old established newspaper.

8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday thru Friday with some overtime/weekend hours depending on workload

Duties:
All things related to producing weekly newspaper from building display ads, formatting classified ads, proofreading and production of weekly paper plus general office tasks.

Qualifications
Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign
Strong understanding of color theory, typography, and visual design
Experience in production design and digital design
Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Excel, and computer skills
Familiarity with graphic design principles and color management
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Organized
Conscientious
Teachable
Team oriented

The Morning Sun staff received eight awards late last week in the Kansas Press Association’s (KPA) Awards of Excellence Contest.

Competing in the Division IV category, the Morning Sun won three first-place awards, one second-place award, and four third-place awards. The winners are:

Jim Henry — Sports Feature Story (first place) and Sports Column Writing (third place)

Aaron Pyle — General News (first place) and General News (third place)

Sara Hannigan — Special Section Advertising (second place) and Best Classified Display Ad (third place)

Jonathan Riley — Editorial Writing (first place)

Antjea Wolff — Feature Story (third place)

“I’m proud of my staff. It just goes to show the quality and commitment they have to producing a great newspaper,” said publisher Justin Crain.
