More than five decades later, the ideas that shaped Saybrook are still moving us forward.

As we celebrate our 55th anniversary this year, we’re honoring a history rooted in challenging convention.

Hear the story behind Saybrook’s beginnings and learn more from the full talk with Eric Willmarth, Ph.D., full professor for the Mind-Body Medicine programs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xDOoHj7V15w

For Azrael Howell, a Ph.D. student in Humanistic Psychology at Saybrook University, near-death studies offer a unique lens for exploring transformation, hope, and the human experience.

His dissertation research examines how people make meaning from near-death experiences and how those perspectives might inform approaches to supporting individuals experiencing depression, trauma, and other forms of distress.

As he says in our video, “don't have to wait until you pass in order to make things better for yourself.”

Rethink social work through an integrative approach, and learn where it can potentially take your career.

Saybrook University’s 100% online Ph.D. in Integrative Social Work prepares students for research, leadership, policy, teaching, and community-focused work through a holistic approach.

A relevant master’s degree is all you need to apply, an MSW isn’t required.

251 years of service, courage, and commitment. Today, Saybrook University celebrates the U.S. Navy's birthday and honors the generations of Sailors who have served our nation.

To the veterans, active-duty service members, and military families within our Saybrook community, we extend our heartfelt gratitude. Your dedication, sacrifices, and unique experiences are an important part of what makes our community who we are.

Her experience within the justice system raised a bigger question: “How can healing become more accessible?”

Tarinna Terrell, a Mind-Body Medicine Ph.D. student at Saybrook University, explores accessible, trauma-informed breathwork as a tool to support sustainable wellness in justice-involved and underserved communities.

She brought this perspective to our last Dean’s Symposium during the Virtual Learning Experience (VLE), where she presented her research, Embodied Justice: The Sacred Somatic Breath Method for Community Healing.

Get a closer look at how opportunities to hear our community’s voices, like the VLE, fit into the Saybrook learning model:
