Recently, the Culinary Arts & Hospitality Management department had the privilege of supporting a “Bundt Cake Donation” initiative for Young & Healthy, a remarkable Pasadena-based non-profit. Young & Healthy provides a vital lifeline to underserved children and families by connecting them with free medical, dental, and mental healthcare through a network of volunteer providers.
To show appreciation for these dedicated volunteer medical professionals, our CAHM student team worked hard to bake, package and deliver 52 specialty cakes to their organization!

* Meyer Lemon Olive Oil Cake - Olive oil cake with a delicious lemon glaze
* Texas Sheet Cake - Chocolate cake with a rich chocolate glaze
* Raspberry White Chocolate - White cake streaked with raspberry jam and dotted with white chocolate chips
* Cookies and Cream - Oreo crumble cake and Oreo dust buttercream topped with mini Oreos
* Pandan Chiffon - Chiffon cake kissed with Pandan, topped with a coconut buttercream
* Cinnamon Streusel Cake - Giant crumb coffee cake!
* Strawberry Bundt - All natural strawberries throughout!
* Apple Cinnamon - Fresh apples
* Pumpkin Bundt - Lightly spiced cake paired with a classic cream cheese frosting
* Carrot cake with cream cheese frosting - A classic!
* Dr. Pepper Cake - Lighter version of a chocolate cake, with a balance of flavor from an unexpected source!

We’re celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival by making mooncakes! Students from our Asian Cuisine 1 class created fillings like red bean, black sesame and lotus paste, all enrobed in a special pastry (agave, ap flour and grapeseed oil) and molded with intricate designs 🥮
The Mid-Autumn Festival, or Moon Festival, is a traditional Asian holiday honoring the harvest season and the full moon. It’s a time for family and gratitude, marked by traditions such as eating mooncakes and decorating with lanterns. The festival’s origins trace back over 3,000 years to ancient moon worship and moon celebrations around Asia 🌕
