🏗️ Groundbreaking Day at Hinds CC Rankin Campus! 🏗️

Earlier today, we celebrated the groundbreaking of The Commons—a future 175-bed residence hall and food-court–style cafeteria with national brands, constructed by Thrash Commercial Contractors.

Plans also include a health complex and gymnasium, paving the way for future expansion of a competitive volleyball program. Attendees marked the moment by signing inspirational messages on rocks that will become part of the site’s future rock garden.

🎉 Jelly Beans & Big Smiles at Rankin! Yesterday’s “Meet the Deans and Director” event at Hinds CC Rankin Campus was buzzing with energy!

Students met new Dean of Students Andrew Gunn—whose humor and warmth stole the show—alongside James Lott, Director of Student Recreation, VP Thomas Ware, Instructor Joy Rhoads, and Dean Gary Fox.

From laughs to jelly bean guesses (and a shot at a $25 Amazon gift card!), it was a sweet success! 🍬📚

The Hinds CC Rankin Campus hosted a Breast Cancer Awareness Walk on Tuesday! The turnout was amazing as students, faculty, and staff walked from the campus store to The Clyde Muse Center!

There were popsicles available afterward to help participants beat the heat and get refreshed. LD’s Food Truck was also on campus for students, faculty, and staff. The Culinary Arts Program in the Rankin Campus CTE Secondary Center provided fresh-baked cookies and punch.

The Digital Media Technology class on the Hinds CC Rankin Campus in the Secondary Career-Technical Center worked on completing several projects today! The students are learning the technical skills to become efficient in audio production, video editing, and graphic design.

Instructor Trey Gore fosters an environment that allows students to feel comfortable with creative experimentation as they work with the platforms widely used in the media industry.

Our Film and Video Technology program, offered on the Rankin Campus, provides you with the knowledge and skills necessary to find employment in the film and video industry.

The program will give you the insight needed to work on feature films, television commercials, music videos, documentary films, internet multimedia, and other audiovisual media.

Our Animation and Simulation Design Technology program emphasizes the techniques and tools used in game design and such media's creative design or content.

This includes in-depth analysis and training in three-dimensional animation skills, for entertainment and industrial applications.

You can complete the program in one to two years. It is ideal if you’re looking to cultivate a basic understanding of game design and/or animation.
