📚✨ Student-Led Learning in Action! ✨📚

Our Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) students recently took the lead in a dynamic student-led review session, demonstrating their knowledge, creativity, and collaboration skills. Through interactive activities, engaging discussions, and peer-to-peer teaching, students reinforced key course concepts while helping one another prepare for success.

🎓 Student-led reviews provide valuable opportunities for learners to take ownership of their education, strengthen communication and leadership skills, and deepen their understanding of course material. By teaching and learning from one another, students build confidence and develop the critical thinking skills essential for future occupational therapy practitioners.

🧠✨ Learning beyond the classroom! ✨🧠

Occupational Therapy Assistant students from Keiser University Pembroke Pines recently took part in a field trip through their Psychiatry course, visiting community-based psychiatric facilities to gain a deeper understanding of programs and services available to individuals living with mental health conditions.

Students engaged in a variety of hands-on learning experiences, including facilitating a group, touring facilities, and meeting with members, residents, and staff. These meaningful interactions provided valuable insight into the diverse roles occupational therapy practitioners play in supporting mental health, wellness, and community participation.

A special thank you to Silver Impact and The Foundation for Independent Living for partnering with us and providing these enriching experiences for our students. We greatly appreciate the opportunity for hands-on learning that helps prepare future OTA practitioners for their clinical experiences and professional careers.
