“Being a Brave means truly being, existing fully and pushing ourselves to live as we were made to. It’s about challenging the limitations the world places on us and using our voices with confidence. At Pembroke, we have the unique opportunity to speak up in classrooms and share our perspectives directly with faculty and staff, and I think that courage and authenticity are what define a Brave.”

Advice for our fellow Braves:

“One of my favorite hobbies is thrifting, and it has taught me a lesson that goes far beyond clothes. If you try on a coat and it doesn’t fit, don’t force yourself to wear it, find one that does. Not every opportunity is meant for you, and that’s okay. College (and life) isn’t about trying to be everything or doing everything. We all have a limited “wardrobe” of time and energy, so it’s important to choose what truly fits you. When you do, you’ll not only thrive, but you’ll leave space for others to step into roles that fit them better too.“

Congratulations, Evan🎉 Your hard work and dedication has not gone unnoticed and you are appreciated for the impacts that you have made through your service💛🖤!

“Being a Brave means to be involved and stepping outside your comfort zone by engaging in new opportunities, using your voice to share ideas and advocate for yourself and others, while building meaningful connections within a diverse and supportive community. Being a Brave also means persevering through academic and personal challenges with resilience, learning from setbacks, and staying committed to your goals.”

“One piece of advice I would give to my fellow Braves is to never be afraid to ask for help or get involved - whether it’s reaching out to a professor, using campus resources, or joining organizations that align with your passions. The support systems and opportunities at UNCP are there for you, and taking advantage of them can make your experience more meaningful, successful, and empowering.”

Congratulations, Johnathan🎉! The ways that you have served this university has not gone unnoticed. We see you and we appreciate you. Continue to be great🖤💛!!
