George Wilson, "250 Years of Freedom: Moments That Shaped America"

This exhibition traces American history from Native American life before European contact through the Revolutionary War, Civil War, and modern era. It highlights key historical events, such as the Battles of Pensacola and the Chesapeake; figures like Ulysses S. Grant; and the evolution of military aviation centered around Naval Air Station Pensacola. The series concludes with contemporary depictions of naval aviation and military service, reflecting on 250 years of conflict, progress, and the changing meaning of freedom in America. A reception will be held in the Switzer Gallery on Tuesday, June 02, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m., and this event is free and open to the public.

The Anna Society Presents: 2026 Juried High School Awards Exhibition
Reception: June 23, 2026, 5-7:30pm, Charles W. Lamar Studio
Awarding Ceremony at 5:30pm, Lamar Lecture Hall (1513)

Hosted by the Anna Society of Pensacola State College, this juried exhibition will be displayed in the Charles W. Lamar Studio from May 25 – July 30, 2026, and features a collective of student artwork from juniors and seniors of both Escambia County and Santa Rosa County.

Join us in celebrating these talented students at the reception on Tuesday, June 23 2026 (5-7:30pm). Award-winning students will be announced starting at 5:30pm, and this event is free and open to the public!

**EXTENDED DEADLINE - 05/01 @ 5PM**

The Visual Arts Department at Pensacola State College and the Anna Society invite all Escambia and Santa Rosa County juniors and seniors to submit their artwork into the 2026 Juried High School Awards Exhibition. Select artwork will be exhibited in the Charles W. Lamar Studio at Pensacola State College, and various awards will be presented at the event ceremony.

Eligible students may submit up to three entries, and all medium is considered. In celebration of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, a special themed award will be presented this year to an artwork exemplifying patriotism or patriotic subject matter.

Digital Artwork Submission Entries (to include a completed Student Application Form and Digital image entry files of the artwork) may be submitted no later than Friday, May 01, 2026 at 5:00 p.m.

Both current and incoming student recipients of various awards and scholarships will be recognized at the awarding ceremony starting at 5:30pm in the Lamar Lecture Hall (1513). A reception will follow, and the event is free and open to the public!
