Artist Lecture and Reception Tonight @ 5:30
Mona Bozorgi, "The Haptic Image"

This exhibition reframes photography as a multisensory experience, connecting materials, concepts, and touch to reveal the unseen and engage viewers beyond sight. Using material experimentation to explore touch as both a physical sensation and an emotional force, the artworks depict the historic and ongoing challenges of women globally, and invites visitors to reflect on how the female identity is represented and shaped by contemporary society.

Her exhibition, “The Haptic Image”, will be on display in the Charles W. Lamar Studio from August 10 – October 09, 2026, and Bozorgi will be presenting an artist lecture in the Lamar Lecture Hall (Room 1513) on September 08, 2026 starting @ 5:30pm. A reception will follow, and the event is free and open to the public!

Wanda Sullivan, "Bloem"

This exhibition merges historical inspiration with modern digital techniques, using the visual language of Dutch Golden Age painters to reinterpret the natural world. Instead of presenting true-to-life floral portraits, the artworks manipulate structure, color, and arrangement to reflect personal perception. The resulting images explore beauty, loss, and the fragile, poetic qualities of nature, inviting viewers to reflect on our direct impact on the environment.

"Bloem" will be on display in the Switzer Gallery from August 17 – December 11, 2026, and Sullivan will present an artist lecture in the Lamar Lecture Hall (Room 1513) on September 29, 2026 starting @ 5:30pm. A reception will follow, and the event is free and open to the public!

Stop by the gallery to vote on a student artwork to receive the People's Choice Award! Voting may be done through Thursday, June 18, 2026 at 12pm, and the winner of this award will be revealed at the exhibition event. A reception will follow, and this event is free and open to the public!

Hosted by the Anna Society of Pensacola State College, this juried features a collective of student artwork from juniors and seniors of both Escambia County and Santa Rosa County.

This exhibition traces American history from Native American life before European contact through the Revolutionary War, Civil War, and modern era. It highlights key historical events, such as the Battles of Pensacola and the Chesapeake; figures like Ulysses S. Grant; and the evolution of military aviation centered around Naval Air Station Pensacola. The series concludes with contemporary depictions of naval aviation and military service, reflecting on 250 years of conflict, progress, and the changing meaning of freedom in America. A reception will be held in the Switzer Gallery on Tuesday, June 02, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m., and this event is free and open to the public.
