5️⃣ “My experience here at UWF has been nothing but great. I came to this school feeling lost, but I found out quickly how welcoming and filled with opportunities this University is. From the people I’ve met, to the opportunities and knowledge that I’ve gotten, to the memories that I have made being on this campus, I am forever grateful for it. UWF owes me nothing. Go Argos!”

There’s something special about seeing a vision begin to take shape. Today, the University of West Florida broke ground on The Synapse—a future home for collaboration, innovation, and discovery. We’re incredibly excited for what this space will make possible.

On April 23, the University of West Florida officially broke ground on a new advanced intelligence, cybersecurity and engineering research building called The Synapse. Funded by part of a $32.5 million award from Triumph Gulf Coast and more than $21 million in state funding, the 55,000-square-foot b...

This is what innovation looks like. 💙

Our students aren’t just learning—they’re solving real-world problems.

A Computer Science capstone team recently developed a lap-timing and mapping system for racing and tested it live at Five Flags Speedway.

Here’s what makes it incredible:
- Commercial systems cost around $1,200
- This team built theirs for just $70 in parts
- Uses highly accurate GPS for lap timing + session recording
- Includes a trackside system for live telemetry + pit crew communication
- Can even send real-time alerts like caution flags

They didn’t just recreate existing tech—they made it more accessible and more functional.

Huge shoutout to team lead Chase Dittbenner and teammates Deesha Rajiv, Andres Gal’lino, and Seydou Hanne for creating something truly impressive.

This is the kind of hands-on, high-impact work your support makes possible.

Check out their work in action below—and if you’re inspired, consider supporting HMCSE today on hashtag .

Today is one of those days that reminds you just how incredible our students are. 💙

At the 2026 UWF Student Scholars Symposium, hosted by the UWF Office of Undergraduate Research, our Mechanical Engineering Enterprise teams were on full display—designed, built, and powered by undergraduates.

We’re talking about students creating:
- Human-powered rovers
- Electric surfboards & wing foil systems
- Autonomous robosubs
- SAE Baja vehicles & endurance racers
…and so much more.

These aren’t just class projects. These are competition-level builds that require real materials, real testing, and real support.

And that’s where today matters.

On , you have the opportunity to directly support these teams—helping them not just compete, but compete at a level that can win.

Every gift fuels innovation. Every dollar helps turn ideas into reality.

If you’ve ever wanted to invest in the future of engineering, this is it.

Give today. Support our students. Let’s help them cross the finish line. 💙

It’s here—Day of Giving at the University of West Florida! 💙

Today, we rally behind the students of the Hal Marcus College of Science and Engineering—the future engineers, cybersecurity leaders, researchers, and innovators shaping what’s next.

We’re already making incredible progress toward our goal… but we’re not stopping there.

Let’s push further. Let’s go bigger. Let’s show what HMCSE can do.

Every gift—no matter the size—supports student success, hands-on learning, and life-changing opportunities.

Be part of it. Give today. Let’s keep HMCSE at the top.
