Jamie Stevenson has a longstanding connection to Carle Health Greater Peoria, where his family’s legacy of service spans generations. His father served as a longtime Board member and his mother founded the flower shop at Carle Health Methodist Hospital - a service that continues to grow through her innovation and passion. In honor of his parents' commitment, Jamie established the Bob and Kay Stevenson Methodist College scholarship to support students pursuing careers in healthcare. Steven Mora-Monge, upcoming Master of Science in Nursing - Prelicensure student at Methodist College, has spent more than two decades working at Carle Foundation Hospital (CFH) in roles including food service and pharmacy - experiences that inspired him to pursue a nursing degree after witnessing the vital impact nurses have on patient care and team collaboration. Motivated by his long-standing interest in patient care, Steven is excited to return to the classroom and prepare for a nursing career grounded in compassion, trust and meaningful human connection. Chicola Dickens is pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) at Methodist College, where her clinical experiences have strengthened her commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care. Chicola serves as Vice President of the Student Government Association and President of the Student Nurses Association. As she nears graduation, Chicola looks forward to beginning her nursing career in women’s health and is committed to working in Labor & Delivery at Carle Foundation Hospital (CFH) upon licensure. We are excited to announce that Methodist College has received a $30,000 grant from the PNC Foundation, delivered through Carle Health Center for Philanthropy, to launch the Methodist College Basic Needs Grant.

The funding will help students cover essential living expenses such as housing, utilities, food, transportation, healthcare, technology, childcare and other basic necessities that can affect their academic progress.
