What an amazing opportunity for this Owens student! If you would like to help him, please see below.

TRIO Student Support Services student Logan Buchanan has been chosen, as 1 of 15 participants from TRIO programs across the US, to attend the 2019 Keith Sherin Global Leaders Program (GLP) at The Hague (in the Netherlands). The GLP is a sponsored program by the Council for Opportunity in Education (COE). COE is nonprofit organization dedicated to furthering the expansion of college opportunities for low-income, first-generation students, and students with disabilities in all 50 states,

This is a tremendous opportunity for Logan to study abroad and share his experiences as an Owens Community College student.

Because of Logan’s leadership and previous experience he was awarded a $1000 scholarship from the Educational Opportunities Association (EOA), the Midwest regional association of TRIO programs. Logan has also received notice that the Owens Community College Foundation will match the first $500 that Logan is able to raise. While this is a fantastic start there is still a significant amount left for Logan to pay. Logan has created a GoFundMe account to assist him in raising the funds needed for this experience. ALL of the funds raised will go toward the flight, transportation, instructional fees, and any housing and food cost while Logan will be studying abroad.

If you would please share the GoFundMe link with those in your area, friends, family members, heck even your enemies. We want to show Logan that his Owens and Toledo (NW Ohio) community supports him.

For those who may be looking to support Logan in ways other than financial, please email him directly at [email protected]
