Owens enrollment continues to grow!

Fall 2026 enrollment reached 7,652 students, a 3.1% increase over Fall 2025 and the highest 14th-day headcount at Owens since Spring 2020.

This marks the 8th consecutive semester of enrollment growth and the 5th consecutive fall semester with an increase.

That growth reflects students choosing Owens for in-demand programs, university transfer options, affordable tuition and the support they need to reach their goals.

Big news for northwest Ohio! 🎉 Owens Community College's TRIO Educational Opportunity Center just landed a new five-year federal grant, worth $280,000 annually, that will let the program serve 1,000 individuals a year (up from 850).

Since 2021, TRIO EOC has helped nearly 2,500 people take steps toward college and career goals, with support like FAFSA help, admissions guidance and workforce training.

"These funds are vital to TRIO EOC's ability to serve northwest Ohio communities and families," said director Brandon Gaddy.

🎓 Big news for our MRI program! Owens Community College's Magnetic Resonance Imaging program just earned an eight-year re-accreditation from JRCERT, the maximum term the agency grants. We're still the only Associate Degree MRI program in the country with this accreditation. 🏆

Huge congrats to program chair Suellen Barnum and the whole MRI team on nearly a year of work to make this happen! 👏

Congratulations to the Owens faculty honored at this year's State of the College address 🖤❤️

Owens President Dr. Dione D. Somerville and Ohio Association of Community Colleges (OACC) President and CEO Avi Zaffini presented the awards, pictured here with the honorees.

Jen Hazel, professor of Humanities and Director of Assessment and Learning, received the Presidential Teaching Award for her innovative, student-centered approach to teaching through AI integration, experiential learning and community engagement. She was previously named a Dale P. Parnell Faculty Distinction honoree by the American Association of Community Colleges in 2022 and currently co-chairs The BIG Read.

Owens also introduced its first-ever Adjunct Faculty Roll of Distinction, honoring adjunct faculty members who go above and beyond for students. This year's inaugural awardees are:
