Today, our battalion had the honor of hosting 1LT Thomas Thompson and Captain Lawrence Mafee from the 7th Special Forces Group. Their visit was not only a highlight of the week but also an incredible opportunity for our cadets to gain invaluable insights into life in combat arms.

Both officers shared their unique journeys, beginning as graduates from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and transitioning into their rewarding careers in the military. They spoke candidly about the challenges and triumphs they faced along the way, emphasizing the importance of perseverance, leadership, and the varied perspectives that HBCU graduates bring to the armed forces. The officers explained how the process of branch detailing can lead to one's branch of choice, providing a roadmap for cadets to consider in their own careers.

This visit has certainly motivated our cadets to reflect on their own paths and the possibilities that lie ahead. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to 1LT Thompson and CPT Mcafee for sharing their stories and wisdom with us. Your leadership and commitment to service are truly inspiring!

This past Friday, The PMS and several cadets had the opportunity to visit Manor High School, the alma mater of Cadet Sean Stevenson. Manor High School welcomed the cadets to share their inspiring ROTC journeys and encourage students to consider pursuing ROTC in college.

Cadets, Stevenson , Greene and Davis and Richardson all emphasized the transformative impact that the ROTC program has had on their lives.

In addition to the cadets, the PMS, LTC Palicia, addressed the class about the myriad opportunities that come with being a member of ROTC in college.

The visit was not just about sharing personal stories; it was about inspiring the next generation to explore the possibilities that ROTC offers. The cadets’ experiences served as a powerful reminder of the impact that commitment to service and leadership can have on one's life. Manor High School students left the presentation with newfound motivation and a deeper understanding of the benefits of joining ROTC.

This engaging and informative session exemplified the spirit of mentorship within the ROTC community, bridging the gap between current cadets and future leaders
