A powerful day of reflection, growth, collaboration, and inspiration. Our team came together for a retreat centered on connection, purpose, and shared vision under the theme ASPIRA: Stronger Together.

From engaging activities and a dynamic motivational speaker to impactful presentations by our leadership team, the day reinforced what makes ASPIRA truly special, our people. Today, our schools are closed as we honor Dr. King’s unwavering fight for civil rights and unity. His commitment to equality inspires us all to advocate for what’s right for our children and families in the face of great adversity.

As he once said, “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”

Today, we honor the beautiful tradition of El Día de los Reyes Magos (Three Kings Day), a cherished celebration in many Latin cultures and around the world.

This day marks the arrival of the Three Wise Men—Melchior, Gaspar, and Balthazar—who followed the star to bring gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh to baby Jesus.

For many, this day represents faith, hope, and the joy of giving. It’s a time to gather with loved ones, exchange meaningful gifts, and reflect on the values of generosity and kindness.

Families often share a rosca de reyes, a sweet bread shaped like a crown, symbolizing unity and the journey of the Wise Men. Hidden inside the bread is a small figure of baby Jesus, and whoever finds it has the honor of hosting a celebration on Día de la Candelaria (Candlemas) in February.

Three Kings Day is more than a holiday—it’s a reminder of the importance of faith and tradition, and of the ways we can bring light and joy into the lives of others.

May your day be filled with love, togetherness, and the magic of this beautiful celebration.

Let’s carry the spirit of Three Kings Day forward—sharing kindness, celebrating culture, and honoring the blessings in our lives.
