Ever get so frustrated with the idea that your bike lane might disappear overnight? What can we do to make these amenities permanent? Let's start with advocacy!

After a threat of temporary bike lane elimination, the Streets Department responded to the Bicycle Coalition on Monday that they will not be removing the bike lanes on the Ben Franklin Parkway during phases of construction. Rather, they will maintain four feet bike lanes in both directions during construction, which is scheduled to go on through spring 2016. Chaos on the street > "None of the 10 biggest cities has a higher rate of accident claims than Philadelphia. That's been true every year for the past decade." And yet, "police are issuing only a quarter the number of tickets for moving violations that they did 16 years ago."
