Our latest update on music interventions in cancer care has just been published in the prestigious Cochrane Library. Our review included 81 studies and showed promising results for music therapy. The evidence for the effectiveness of our work continues to grow!

The lates publication of the Arts and Quality of Life Research Center - music therapy entrainment study (with alumni Dr. Andrea Hunt and Carrie Rupnow Kidd) conducted at Temple Hospital's Cancer Pain Center in collaboration with Temple's School. of Pharmacy and funded by the state of PA. Also done in collaboration with Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge England. It's open access from the journal, Frontiers in Psychology

Previous studies examining EEG and LORETA in patients with chronic pain discovered an overactivation of high theta (6–9 Hz) and low beta (12–16 Hz) power in central regions. MEG studies with healthy subjects correlating evoked nociception ratings and source localization described delta and gamma...

The 3rd International Conference of Temple University’s Arts and Quality of Life Research Center will be held MARCH 13, 2020 from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The conference theme is: ADVANCED PRACTICE IN MUSIC THERAPY. The speakers, Drs. Inge Nygaard Pedersen, Denise Grocke, Gro Trondalen, Jaakko Erkkilla, Jos De Backer, Michael Zanders and Cheryl Dileo will present their own advanced clinical approaches in music psychotherapy or medical music therapy.
