💸 Major: Neuroscience with a Minor in Cognitive Science

❤️ Why APAHW: Penn's AAPI programs have been fundamental to helping me feel comfortable enough to discuss previously stigmatized or glossed over topics regarding my Asian American identity. Through APALI, PEER Mentoring, and even the APAHW events of past semesters, I've been able to reflect on a shared past and find a community of people who understand my experiences. I hope to bring that experience to more people around Penn, to share with them the eye-opening experience of understanding Asian American Identity through helping coordinate APAHW.

🎭 Passions / Hobbies / Interests: I love reading, writing poetry/stories, playing badminton and other card games.

🔥 Hot take: If you enjoy spice you enjoy pain, because spice is just the activation of your tongue's pain receptors.

🌠 What does “Limitless” mean to you: Going beyond the barriers and mental/physical roadblocks to attain a goal.

🎉 APAHW event most looking forward to: Big Asian!

💸 Major: Huntsman Program in International Studies and Business (Business Analytics, BEES, Chinese)
📋 GenBoard: Programming

❤️ Why APAHW: I volunteered for APAHW last sem (highly recommend!) & was inspired by the passion and love of everyone on Board as they helped to create a welcoming and positive environment for Penn’s Asian American and Pacific Islander community. So excited to support events that share a message of hope & togetherness to all AAPI students at Penn!

🎭 Passions / Hobbies / Interests: Sampling every known tea in existence, photographing & writing about food, practicing martial arts, working on sustainability

💭 Favorite Family Memory: Watching my entire family fall in love with our dog, Waffle

💸 Major: Computer Science

❤️ Why APAHW: At Penn, it's always been rewarding to find a home in Asian / Asian-American spaces, and I have loved finding people that can relate to my experiences growing up while also finding ways to celebrate Asian cultures with people from all around campus. I know that APAHW will be an experience that brings people together to celebrate a heritage that I'm so proud of, and I knew I wanted to be a part of making it happen.

🎭 Passions / Hobbies / Interests: traveling, anything adrenaline inducing, kpop, snowboarding, weirdly specific spotify playlists

💭 Favorite Family Memory: sitting in my parents' room at the end of a long day and giving them a rundown of my day

🔥 Hot take: it is sufficient to watch the first and last episodes of a kdrama

🌠 What does “Limitless” mean to you: To me, limitless means never saying no to myself and pushing myself to try the things that are out of my comfort zone, even if it's scary. As an Asian-American woman, it can be easy to feel imposter syndrome and reject myself before others even have a chance to get to know me and my abilities, and I want to work on that, reaching to achieve whatever I want to without limits.

🎉 APAHW event most looking forward to: I'm most looking forward to hopefully making a freshmen event happen! I really appreciated the Asian-American peer groups that I became a part of freshmen year, and I hope that we can provide a space for those relationships to start and develop for those who are trying to find their place as they come to a new place and meet so many new people.

🎓 Year: 2024
📍 Hometown: Seoul, Korea
💸 Major: Biology

❤️ Why APAHW: Since coming to Penn, the AAPI community has made me feel so much more supported and confident in my cultural identity. I wanted to contribute to the AAPI presence and awareness on Penn's campus, and be able to share my culture with friends!

🎭 Passions / Hobbies / Interests: cooking korean food, ski/snowboarding, chill pop, k-r&b, sustainability/food startups

💭 Favorite Family Memory: opening gifts on christmas day morning with cookies and carrots left out for the reindeers

🌠 What does “Limitless” mean to you: limitless, to me, is the infinite possibilities of what i (and we) could do to make a difference in the world. college has been a journey of opportunities and challenges i never could have imagined that pushed me to new limits. i think everyone is limited only by the limits they set for themselves; in other words, anything can be made possible!

🎉 APAHW event most looking forward to: extravaganza!

🎓 Year: 2025
📍 Hometown: Moorestown, NJ
💸 Major: Biology
📋 GenBoard: Programming

❤️ Why APAHW: I love how APAHW provides space for everyone to celebrate their culture, especially as Asians are such a wonderfully diverse group! I hope that APAHW can encourage Asians to connect with their heritage and find a community that they belong in.

🎭 Passions / Hobbies / Interests: Reading (really want to visit the Yu and Me bookstore in NYC!), collecting postcards at art museums, baking Asian bakery goods (steamed buns 😋), hiking/biking/running/anything outdoorsy

💭 Favorite Family Memory: Playing shengji (a Chinese card game) with my parents and sister during quarantine!

🌠 What does “Limitless” mean to you: To me, limitless means that no one can put Asian Americans in a box. We are so diverse that we transcend all stereotypes and expectations to become human beings with our own, individual hopes and dreams. Limitless is about giving Asian Americans the space to grow into whoever they want to be.

🎓 Year: 2024
📍 Hometown: Englewood Cliffs, NJ
💸 Major: Psychology
📋 GenBoard: Programming

❤️ Why APAHW: it's so cool to get the chance to be a part of something that brings together the asian community at penn and in the process, to learn more about / celebrate my asian identity (alongside a bunch of other really cool asian people!).

🎭 Passions / Hobbies / Interests: reading, baking, listening to music

🔥 Hot take: bagels should not be toasted

🌠 What does “Limitless” mean to you: limitless makes me think of that movie that totally broke me - everything everywhere all at once - and how incredible it can be to realize all the possibilities we have - like there is no limit to what we can be - individually, as well as as a community.

🎉 APAHW event most looking forward to: big asian!

❤️ Why APAHW: APAHW is a time to learn, share, and celebrate. The AAPI community covers such a vast range of cultures, identities, and experiences - I am so excited for the events of APAHW to bring this amazing community together to celebrate!

🎭 Passions / Hobbies / Interests: Crocheting, reading, hiking, playing word games (nyt crossword and spelling bee!), watching dramas, language-learning

💭 Favorite Family Memory: Sitting with my family in our backyard during the summer while my parents barbecue and we eat yummy food - the vibes are just too good!

🌠 What does “Limitless” mean to you: To me, the theme of Limitless represents the unyielding tenacity and potential of the AAPI community, and how much that grows when we unite together.

🎉 APAHW event most looking forward to: Extravaganza!

🎓 Year: 2025
📍 Hometown: Livingston, NJ
💸 Major: Linguistics; CIS minor
📋 GenBoard: Programming

❤️ Why APAHW: I never saw myself as much of an event organizer, much less an Asian-centered event organizer, but more and more I’ve realized it’s important to actively celebrate my culture and get other people excited about it too. APAHW is a way to break down the perception of Asians as a single monolithic group and instead recognize the diversity and nuance of being Asian.

🎭 Passions / Hobbies / Interests: Graphic design, listening to 808s & Heartbreak on repeat, watching cooking

🔥 Hot take: watching TV show highlights on YouTube is more fun than sitting through the entire show itself

🌠 What does “Limitless” mean to you: Feeling comfortable in your own skin

🎉 APAHW event most looking forward to: Speaker event
