In collaboration with Quechua at Penn, LTA Latin Sorority (Beta Epsilon Chapter), and Penn
Equity in Action Visiting Scholars, Power Street Theatre is proud to present THE MACHU PICCHU PLAY by Tyler Rocio Ecoña as the first work in their new Playtime Reading Series.
In a dystopian near-future, a protest leaves two American tourists stranded atop Machu Picchu.
Centuries earlier, on the same mountaintop, a third-gender oracle and their apprentice predict
the collapse of the Inca Empire. As both timelines spiral toward destruction, the past and present begin to intertwine in unexpected ways.
Experience a bold new play by Tyler Rocio Ecoña, directed by Erlina Ortiz. This trilingual
(English, Spanish, and Quechua) is a story of migration, trans history, and reconnecting to
Indigenous heritage, where the sacred meets the revolutionary.
OCT. 27th, 6PM - EXCERPT PREVIEW
UPenn Campus, Platt Performing Arts House
3702 Spruce St, Philadelphia, PA 19104
NOV. 7th, 6PM - FULL LENGTH READING
William Way LGBT Community Center
