The Penn for Immigrant Rights Scholarship

The Penn for Immigrant Rights Scholarship The PIR Scholarship was established in 2013 to provide funding for Philadelphia college-bound high school students regardless of their immigration status.

Penn for Immigrants Rights (PIR) is a successful and prominent leader in the Philadelphia area. PIR is the first organization at the University of Pennsylvania led by undocumented youth and allies looking to increase dialogue on immigration in the United States. They hope to engage the Pennsylvania community in conversations regarding equal access to higher education and equal opportunities for im

migrant students regardless of their current immigration status. Their priority is to empower undocumented students and immigrant communities. The Penn for Immigrant Rights Scholarship was established to provide funding for Philadelphia college-bound high school students regardless of their immigration status. This scholarship would be granted to select Philadelphia students following an application process evaluated by the Scholarship Committee of Penn for Immigrant Rights. PIR hopes this scholarship fund will help undocumented students, otherwise ineligible for most types of financial assistance towards education. Hi everyone! Hope you're almost done with finals. Just wanted to let everyone know about a study being conducted by one of our PIR allies. She is studying the experiences of undocumented and DACAmented students at highly-selective colleges, as this context has been largely left out in the research that has been conducted about undocumented students in the last fifteen years, and as a result, a lot of these colleges are missing critical resources and support. If anyone is interested in her study, please contact her!

"thedream.us scholarship has partnered with Palm Beach State College (PBSC) to offer scholarships to students who have Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). Please help spread the word!
"PBSC serves Florida’s third most populous county with more than 1.3 million residents, and according to data obtained by the Florida College Access Network, PBSC has the largest use of out-of-state tuition waivers by DREAMers in the state of Florida.""

Thanks to Aida D. Rodriguez for helping spread the word!

We are a national scholarship fund for immigrant youth who’ve received DACA, who want to obtain a college education and give back to their communities.
