Rutgers University Association of International Relations Home of Rutgers University's ONLY Model UN travel team! Join our discord to talk to us more! Delegates’ research their roles, and plan strategies.

For the 2020-2021 school year, we will be meeting once a week during the summer and twice a week during the fall. Welcome to the Rutgers Association Of International Relations:

Also known as RUAIR, this organization is the place for International Relations when it comes to Rutgers. Aside from International Relations this organization weaves current events, discussions, debates, politics, travel,

campus involvement, and the United Nations into one cohesive intellectually stimulating yet fun organization. This organization is for any major, minor, gender, age, or experience. All you need is free Tuesday nights at 9pm at the Murray Hall Room 211, and a desire to discuss international issues. The atmosphere is open, relaxed, and diverse, allowing for opinions to be expressed freely and calmly. This organization molds students into future leaders, and academically sharpens your speaking, reading, researching and negotiating skills. Once every week, we meet to discuss and debate current international or domestic topics. It is not just limited to that, we discuss all sorts of topics and we may even discuss topics concerning the University. In addition we will be very active this year when it comes to international relations-focused events on campus and will sponsor or co-sponsor as many as we can. Aside from discussions and campus involvement, one of the most exciting things we do as an organization is travel all over the United States and at times aboard to compete at Model UN conferences. We compose a traveling team which competes against college students from all over the United States and abroad for awards that are given to delegates for their speaking, writing, negotiating, and creative skills. Participants choose or are assigned a nation whom they represent in a simulated situation in a committee. At the conference you work alongside with other students, to debate, deliberate, consult, and negotiate creative solutions to world problems. Sounds exciting right? Well, I have not even got to the fun part yet! Every conference is packed with social events that take your mind off the conference and allows you explore where you are and interact with everyone in a relaxed, fun, and social atmosphere. You will end up with friends at Universities all over the United States and abroad. Talk about networking! Best part about all of this? You do not have to have any experience at all, some of our most successful delegates were the ones that did this for the first time last year! We can assure you joining this organization will leave you with memories that will last you a life time. What you will learn here you will use for the rest of your life, no matter what career you end up pursuing. I encourage, no challenge, anyone and everyone who has an interest in international relations, diplomacy, travel, debate, networking, or just meeting new people, making new friends, and attaining a new experience to come to a meeting and one conference and it will speak for itself. Rutgers, and our team, is ranked among the top in the nation and this year we plan to climb the rankings while having fun the entire way up. We have a competitive and exciting agenda this coming year that you won’t want to miss out on. Don’t just take my word for it, come and experience it yourself.
