We’re proud to partner with Arizona Western College to bring ASU’s new three-year bachelor’s degree pathways to students in the Yuma community.

Together, we’re creating more ways for students to earn an ASU degree and pursue careers in education while staying connected to their community.

🎓 Big news for future educators in Yuma! Arizona Western College is partnering with Arizona State University to bring what's believed to be the nation's first three-year Bachelor's degrees in Education to our community, giving aspiring teachers a more affordable, flexible path forward.

Students can earn a Bachelor of Education in Elementary or Special Education in just 90 credits, staying local while they train.

"Together, Arizona Western College and Arizona State University are creating a seamless pathway with the new three-year bachelor's degrees that empowers aspiring educators to earn their bachelor's degree while meeting the growing workforce needs of our region," said AWC President Reetika Dhawan.

With nearly 1,400 Arizona teaching positions unfilled last fall, this pathway matters. Online and in-person options available, with start dates in October and January.

Learn how AWC and ASU are building a faster, more affordable path into the teaching profession.

We are saddened by the loss of Ira Fulton, a longtime friend and champion of our college and Arizona State University.

Ira and his beloved wife, Mary Lou, believed deeply in the power of education and in the people who make it possible. Their extraordinary generosity created opportunities for students, teachers and learners whose impact reaches classrooms, schools and communities across Arizona and beyond.

Ira’s commitment went far beyond philanthropy. He cared deeply about students and educators and took a personal interest in the people and programs he and Mary Lou supported.

We are proud to carry Mary Lou Fulton’s name and grateful for all Ira and Mary Lou made possible for our students, educators and communities. Their legacy will continue for generations.

What a way to kick off the fall semester! 🔱☀️

Yesterday, our team welcomed new students to Mary Lou Fulton College for Teaching and Learning Innovation with some ASU goodies, a chance to connect and a welcome from Dean Carole Basile during our College assembly.

Dean Basile shared an important message as students begin their ASU journey: there is no “average” learner or educator. We all bring different strengths, experiences and perspectives, and that variability is something to recognize and celebrate.

From there, the Sun Devil energy continued at InfernoFest, including a performance by Big Sean! 🔥🎶

Classes start tomorrow, and we can’t wait to see our students back in classrooms and around campus.

Welcome to MLFC and welcome back, Sun Devils! 🔱
