What does it mean to lead in a world being rapidly reshaped by artificial intelligence and emerging technology? Thunderbird is expanding its work at the intersection of technology, leadership and human potential as the ASU Future of Being Human initiative joins the school this fall.

The initiative features internationally recognized experts Andrew Maynard and Sean Leahy, as they bring new opportunities for students to explore not only how emerging technologies work, but how leaders can harness them responsibly, navigate uncertainty, and keep people at the center of technological transformation.

As Dean Griffy-Brown shared, “Through this work, our students will have opportunities to engage with these changes as they are unfolding, to ask difficult questions about what they mean for people and organizations, and to develop the judgment, adaptability, and human-centered leadership skills they will need to navigate a future that none of us can fully predict.”

The world our students enter is changing faster than ever. Artificial intelligence is reshaping how we work, geopolitics is influencing decisions about capital and supply chains, and traditional career paths are becoming increasingly fluid.

As Distinguished Professor of Practice in Global Accounting, Risk and Agility Euvin Naidoo writes in the latest Faculty Insight, “Knowledge remains important, but knowledge is abundant. Judgment is scarce.” The real question is not how much information tomorrow’s leaders can access, but whether they can apply sound judgment, navigate ambiguity and continue learning as the world changes.
