The U of A has been approved for $30.6 million to support research conducted as part of a large public health initiative to implement and evaluate prehospital blood transfusion.

2026 EM Research Seed Grant Applications Out-Due Nov 1

I'm pleased to share that AzCEP will again be offering a $1000 EM Research Seed Grant. The application and past award recipients can be found on the website (azcep.org) and the deadline is November 1.

FYI, we have recently modified the parameters, and it will now allow for travel expenses in order to present findings at a conference. Also new is that we are willing to mentor anyone who has questions or needs some help to get started.

Two days in Prescott, in the books.

AzCEP's annual Destination Meeting brought the board, our sponsors, and members together at the Hassayampa Inn — for long-range planning, an ACEP National update from C. Ryan Keay, MD, FACEP, and a whole lot of time in the same room.

A sponsored dinner — thanks to Aerogen and Robert Takla, MD, MBA, FACEP — rolled into a Whiskey Row evening. Then the Wellness Committee closed us out with a "Climb Together, Thrive Together" morning hike up Thumb Butte, led by Mara Windsor, DO, FACEP.

This is the work, and the company, that keeps Arizona EM strong. All members are welcome — wherever you practice, there's a seat for you next year.
