Speaker spotlight for the 9th Annual EM Opioid Summit: Dr. Dan Quan, presenting on mixed addiction and using medications for opioid use disorder in kratom cases.

Kratom is showing up more often in Arizona EDs, and it rarely comes alone. Dr. Quan will walk through what mixed-substance patients actually look like at the bedside, and how our MOUD toolkit adapts when kratom is part of the picture.

Got an EM research idea? We want to fund it.

The AzCEP EM Research Seed Grant awards $1,000 to Arizona resident, fellow, and medical student members pursuing original emergency-medicine research, working with a mentoring attending. Past awardees have gone from case series to peer-reviewed publications and national podium presentations.
