The next WelderUp workshop hosted by VTI is happening October 17-18. Steve Darnell, creator of WelderUp and star of the Discovery Channel hit series Vegas Rat Rods, has teamed up with VTI to bring his skills and expertise down to our Phoenix campus to offer two workshops:

- Steve Darnell WelderUp TIG Workshop at VTI

Workshops are designed for 20 people per session and provide welders, helmets, gloves, safety glasses, and lunch.

Software Engineer Pivots to Rewarding Welding Career

In a recent Business Insider article, Tabby Toney talked about how she was laid off from her software engineering job in Oklahoma and pivoted to welding at 38 years old. And how she has never been happier because it allows her to reconnect with her love of intellectual stimulation and creative problem-solving. It’s part of a continuing trend toward blue collar work that we’re seeing recently, especially in Gen Z.

It’s time to start thinking about the changing seasons and ponder that annual question: Is my heating system ready for winter? That’s the whole point of National Tune-Up Day, an annual observance established in 2014 with the goal of drawing the attention of homeowners to maintenance, upkeep, and care of their heating-cooling systems.
