Peek into a Placement with Mary Kate Pear!

Mary Kate is a senior majoring in Elementary Education. Her placement this year is in a second grade classroom at Pelham Road Elementary in Wade Hampton, SC.

She said, “Being in the classroom for a full school day twice a week has been an absolutely invaluable experience! My classroom teacher is an expert in her field and I learn so much from her. She guides me through all classroom management strategies, procedures, and transitions during the day. I have been able to add so many more tools to my toolbox. Having more time in the classroom has also allowed me to get to know my students and become another support in their education. I love working with them and getting to see their progress first hand. They remind me everyday why I’ve always wanted to be a teacher. I can’t wait for another semester at Pelham Road Elementary!!”
