With Day 2 of PTCC Summer Academy in the books, we're highlighting our Explore Automation, Manufacturing and Welding: Innovate and Create Academy!

Students are spending the week building their own camp stoves while learning the fundamentals of welding, automation, fabrication, and manufacturing. Through hands-on projects, they're developing technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and teamwork that are essential in today's skilled trades and advanced manufacturing careers.

The best part? On Thursday, they'll put their work to the test during a canoe trip on the beautiful St. Croix River, where they'll use their custom-built stoves to prepare a shore lunch.

PTCC's Automated Systems Technology program prepares students for careers in industrial automation, maintenance, and advanced manufacturing through hands-on learning and real-world experience. Students work with robotics, PLCs, electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and more while developing the troubleshooting skills employers value most.

☀️ Summer Academy is off to an incredible start!

Today’s spotlight shines on our Explore Construction: Craft Your Paddle Academy, where students began crafting their very own custom canoe paddles. Over the next three days, they’ll learn woodworking skills, shape their paddles, and add their own personal touches to create something truly unique.

The best part? Their hard work won’t stay in the workshop for long. On Thursday, students will put their handcrafted paddles to the test during a canoe adventure on the beautiful Saint Croix River, coordinated in partnership with Wild River Outfitters in Grantsburg.

We can’t wait to see these paddles in action and watch our students experience the reward of using something they built with their own hands!

What a fun week it has been at the Minnesota State High School Trap Shooting Championship!

It's been great meeting so many student-athletes, families, and coaches. We've enjoyed hearing from people who have attended Pine Technical & Community College, are considering PTCC, or know someone who has been part of the PTCC community.

There are still three days left at the championship, so if you're in the area, stop by our booth and say hello! We'd love to meet you and answer any questions you may have.

NOW HIRING NURSING LABORATORY ASSISTANT

Join the team at Pine Technical & Community College and help support the next generation of healthcare professionals. This part-time position plays a key role in our Nursing program by assisting with simulation activities, maintaining lab equipment, preparing learning spaces, supporting student skill development, and helping create hands-on learning experiences for future nurses. The position is approximately 24 hours per week during the academic year and 16 hours per week during the summer.

🔨🪚 Building skills and partnerships!

PTCC was excited to partner with Central Minnesota Jobs and Training Services, Inc. to host the first day of their Tech & Trades Camp. Students had the opportunity to explore our campus and gain hands-on experience in Construction Technology with PTCC faculty member Tim Anderson and Mora Public Schools-Official teacher Josh Norby.

Working together, students built two-person picnic benches while learning valuable skills and experiencing the rewarding world of the trades.

Thank you to CMJTS for this outstanding partnership and to all of the students who participated and made the day a success. We love seeing the next generation of skilled trades professionals in action!
