Our last Friday Feature of the year is Hannah Hunt. “I have spent past two years at Sandhills studying baking and pastry arts and I have learned so much from it. It’s been such a great environment with lots of hands-on learning and experience that I will be able to use for years to come. After graduation, I plan to continue at Sandhills and study Accounting, hoping to eventually become a licensed CPA and work saving money for several years so that one day I will be able to open up a Cafe and bakery. I want to thank all of the instructors in the program for making these past two years a wonderful experience!” Congratulations to Hannah and all our graduates. We will see you on stage tomorrow.

Today’s featured Grad is Jacqueline Holden. Jacque managed to kick butt on the volleyball court and in the kitchen.
“My Time at sandhills has been fun, challenging and Educational. Knowing each of my teachers on a personal level truly makes this program one of a kind. Shout out Chef Currier and Chef Brunner for fixing my car! My plans after sandhills are to start working, as well as continuing my education by getting my bachelors in Hospitality management.”

Today’s featured grad is Baking and Pastry student Alexis Morgan.
“My time at sandhills has been the greatest since day one. Not only have I learned new skills but have made friends along the way. The instructors are the most relible teachers I’ve ever had, always there for any questions whether small or large. With their guidance and encouragement, I was able to find confidence in my baking techniques. Truly the school to be for pastry and culinary Arts. I thank everyone from the bottom of my heart”.

Today’s grad highlight features Ashley Johnson. “My time at Sandhills Community College has been most enjoyable. Throughout all of my past education, I have yet to find a learning environment where the instructors truly strive for their student’s success. The chef instructors have taught me so much, and I look fondly at my past years with them. Our graduating Baking and Pastry Students will showcase their “Mock-up” bakeries tomorrow in Dempsey Student Center.

Come by and check out “Baker’s Row” Wednesday April 29 from 11 am to 1 pm! Enjoy delicious baked goods to include hand pies w local ingredients, hibiscus cake, Texas sheet cake shooters, gluten free brownies and more!!!

This is a free event, all we ask is honest feedback through a short survey on how each student did.
